So how do we tell whether a person has Autistic Demand Avoidance or PDA?

My biggest issue in identifying emotions is having to purposefully connect the dots between the physical manifestations of emotion in my body and that particular emotion.  

ABA was never designed to help autistic people.
It was designed to suppress a person’s autism and try to make them compliant, neurotypical-acting robots.

Because I feel like my eyes are on fire.  The intensity and intimacy is overwhelming.  My brain can’t process everything you are saying when I look at you.  Eye contact makes me feel physically overwhelmed.

Everyone raves about ABA and how wonderful it is. Not a lot of people have asked an autistic adult about their experience with it. I had blocked out my memories of it until I got involved with an autisic support group prior to my diagnosis.
